Founder of TheClayman.com, Paul Moldovanos is a multi-disciplined creative professional living in Canada’s beautiful west coast. His diversified styles include cartoon and whimsy, fine art, graphic design, illustration, photography, sculpture and animation production.
The Clayman’s cartoon work was first published in MAD Magazine which helped launch a career that now includes designs used as national billboards for the US Army Corps of Engineers National Water Safety campaigns, character development for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation and health education posters for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. As an Animation Producer, Paul works with many industry professionals and can assemble world class production teams for projects of any size and style.
Paul’s career in clay stop motion animation began as an apprentice under Lisa Jane Gray and David Bowes from Bowes Productions where he worked on projects including commercials for Pharmasave, Lotus Awards and BCAA and Fuji TV’s Hiroki Pontiki’s Tongue Twister shorts. Years later he partnered with Lisa Jane Gray on several projects and pitches for a couple years before her untimely passing.
TheClayman.com studio has been featured on Vancouver’s City TV “Breakfast Television”, CHUM Television’s “VILand Parade”, Canwest Global’s “Go”, Partner’s in Motion production of “Very Odd Jobs” and several popular industry blogs.
As an Animation Producer, he is assembling a team for pre-development of an animated 3D feature film for the Aquafriends Foundation in Los Angeles raising awareness for the international Garbage Patch in the Pacific Gyre. To date, The Clayman and Associates provided and created all concept art, character sets and props designs, storyboards and animatics, 3D character, set and prop cad models, full rigs ready for animating. These assets were delivered to the foundation who has received promising attention from leading Hollywood studios, international environmental foundations and ‘A’ list voice talent. Paul’s latest professional creative pursuit is photography, he has covered many events, concerts and captured the natural beauty of the west coast. Some notable celebrities captured include authors Marianne Williamson, Dr. Gabor Mate, musicians like Macklemore, Bif Naked, Elaine Shepherd, Delhi to Dublin, Juno Reactor and The Luminaries. His work is featured on National Geographic’s Your Shot where some of his photos have been selected as Editor’s Favorite. Events and festivals he’s photographed include Artists for Conservation ( Official Photographer ) , Earth Dance, DreamTalks Vancouver, Caribbean Days, Latin Vancouver and Vancouver Pride. Behind the scenes, he has been a contributing Photo Editor for Canada’s Premiere ‘Good Life Connoisseur‘ Magazine.
